Dr. Brooke Bennett, ER Veterinarian
Dr. Brooke Bennett completed her doctorate in veterinary medicine at Oklahoma State University in 2020. Following graduation, she entered an internship at her alma mater in Shelter Medicine with a specific focus on high-quality, high-volume (HQHV) spay/neuter techniques. In 2021, she started working at HQHV Spay/Neuter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After about a year, Dr. Bennett wanted to expand her scope of practice into general small animal practice, as well as a change in landscape. She and her husband took new jobs in Pullman, Washington, and moved their little family to the Pacific Inland region. Since that move, Dr. Bennett has been at Alpine Animal Hospital in Pullman, Washington, focusing on soft tissue surgery, dentistry, integrative medicine, and behavioral medicine, and ultimately, falling in love with the Palouse and the Pullman-Moscow community it supports.
After about 2 years in general practice, Dr. Bennett recognized a desperate need in the region for small animal veterinarians focused primarily on emergency and critical care; the local teaching hospital and general practices were having difficulty supporting the needs of their shared clients and pets. When it was announced that Viking Veterinary Hospital would be arriving in Moscow, Idaho, to provide this service, Dr. Bennett knew this would be an opportunity to support the community she has grown to love and quickly applied. She is excited for the opportunity and privilege to serve pet owners in their times of need.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bennett’s interests include going on hiking and camping adventures with her husband, Jeremiah, and their two dogs, Beck and Annie. Beck is a 2020 mixed breed dog (half border collie, half chihuahua) that is Dr. Bennett’s heart dog, and Annie is a 2013 mixed breed dog (pittie/something-scruffy) that is Jeremiah’s best friend. Dr. Bennett also spends a lot of time keeping her two cats, Creek and Ripple, out of all of her crochet and cross-stitch supplies. Last but not least, Dr. Bennett’s fifth pet is an approximately 18-year-old creamsicle corn snake named Rio and is arguably their most well-behaved pet. She cannot wait to be a part of Team Viking to support pet owners in the Palouse and surrounding areas when they are in need!
Dr. Liv Brockhaus, ER Veterinarian
Dr. Liv Brockhaus graduated from Washington State University (WSU) in 2023. She also completed her undergraduate studies at WSU, with a B.S. in Animal Science. A proud alumnus of WSU’s esteemed veterinary program, Dr.Liv has always been drawn to the beauty and charm of the Palouse region, which she now proudly calls home.
Before focusing on emergency medicine, Dr. Liv gained invaluable experience in mixed practice, with a particular emphasis on equine care. This background has instilled a deep understanding of the diverse needs of animals, as well as the ability to navigate complex, high-pressure situations. Dr. Liv is passionate about emergency medicine and giving back to the community. She loves being able to provide critical support to both patients and their families during some of their most challenging times.
Outside of work, Dr. Liv has her own pack of animals, including a horse, goats, dogs, and a herd of cats, which reflects her love for animals of all kinds. When not caring for patients, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, music, swing dancing, and spending quality time with friends and family, who are a central part of her life.
Dr. Liv is committed to providing exceptional care in times of need and is excited to continue serving the community of the Palouse with a blend of high-quality medicine, empathy, and dedication.
Dr. Stephanie Permenter, Owner & Medical Director
From a young age, Dr. Permenter knew that caring for animals was her calling. Growing up on a family farm, she spent countless hours nursing injured animals and caring for sick calves and kittens, developing a deep bond with the creatures around her. This passion naturally led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Permenter attended Washington State University for vet school and completed an internship in equine medicine, honing her skills and expertise. After returning home, she worked in the family’s small animal clinic while establishing a successful ambulatory equine practice, which she ran for over a decade. During that time, she added acupuncture and chiropractic services for horses before refocusing on small animal medicine. Her love for horses stems from a childhood spent riding and showing in 4-H and PonyClub.
Dreaming of a quieter lifestyle for her family, Dr. Permenter explored opportunities to own a veterinary hospital in a small town. As an Idaho native and farm kid who loves the mountains, Moscow stood out as the ideal fit. The town offers a blend of small-town charm, farming traditions, and a mountain lifestyle she has always cherished. Time spent in the area during undergrad and vet school only deepened this connection.
Today, Dr. Permenter finds fulfillment in small animal emergency medicine, helping pets and owners during some of their most critical moments. Committed to service, she provides after-hours and emergency care to support both the community and local veterinarians.
Outside of work, Dr. Permenter enjoys riding cutting horses, trail riding, photography, and spending quality time with her family.
Dr. Kaytlyn Schultz, ER Veterinarian
Dr. Kaytlyn Schultz earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2016, following her undergraduate studies at Central Washington University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. With over eight years of experience in general practice veterinary medicine, she has witnessed the increasing demand for emergency services and is committed to providing exceptional medical support for animals when they need it most.
Dr. Schultz believes that veterinary care goes beyond medicine, it’s also about compassion and understanding. She is devoted to guiding pet owners through challenging times with empathy, ensuring they feel informed and supported as they navigate their pet’s health.
Drawn to the small town living of the Palouse, Dr. Schultz and her husband, a Moscow native, found it to be the perfect place to raise their three children. Whether hiking, camping, playing games, or simply enjoying a movie night, family time is at the heart of her life. Their home is also filled with energy from two lively Labradors and a pair of beloved guinea pigs.
Dr. Schultz believes that every pet deserves compassionate and expert care, especially in critical moments. She strives to be a source of support for pet owners, ensuring they feel informed and reassured during difficult times. By bringing her experience, knowledge, and empathy to the region, Dr. Schultz is honored to be part of a veterinary team that strengthens and uplifts the community.
Dr. Jadyn Terzi, ER Veterinarian
Dr. Jadyn Terzi graduated from Washington State University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2025. Dr. Terzi also attended WSU for her undergraduate degree, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences and a minor in music. Dr. Terzi is originally from the west side of Washington, but after falling in love with the Palouse during her time here for school, she and her husband have decided to make the Palouse their home. She deeply loves this community and is very passionate about serving the people and animals on the Palouse and in the surrounding region.
Dr. Terzi was interested in veterinary medicine from the age of seven after taking her cat, Jasmine, to the vet for the first time. This was further confirmed while participating in the FFA Veterinary Science CDE in high school. She has been working with small animals and horses for as long as she can remember. Dr. Terzi loves veterinary medicine because it has enabled her to combine her love for people, animals, communication, and medicine/surgery all into one field. She is so excited to be working as an ER Veterinarian as part of the team at Viking Veterinary Hospital and to help be able to fill a much needed need for ER doctors in this wonderful community. Dr. Terzi is passionate about providing high-quality medicine with compassionate care and clear communication.
Outside of work, Dr. Terzi enjoys spending time with her husband, Jake, her horse, Smoke, and her friends and family. She also enjoys serving at and being involved with her church, playing basketball, and exploring the great outdoors, whether that be hiking/backpacking, swimming, hunting, or fishing.
